What to Do Key Dates & Deadlines Details
Step 1: Apply to Graduate By February 2
  • Application must be on file with the university.
  • Fall 2025 graduates and Spring/Summer 2026 graduation candidates are eligible to participate in the 2026 commencement ceremonies.
  • Graduate students apply through the College of Graduate Studies.
Step 2: Register to attend in Tassel March 5-April 17
  • Tassel opens on March 5 and closes on April 17 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Registering for your ceremony in Tassel ensures your name appears on screen and is pronounced correctly.
Step 3: Verify Your GoAztecs Account By March 9
  • Graduates must have an active GoAztecs account with their SDSU.edu email to claim guest tickets online. Those who previously claimed Aztec football or basketball tickets can use their existing account.
Step 4: Attend GradFest March 24-26
  • GradFest is held in Montezuma Hall at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union, March 24–25 from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and March 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Purchase regalia, announcements, and other graduation items.
Step 5: Claim Guest Tickets Begins during GradFest,
March 24–26
  • Each college will have a scheduled date and time to claim complimentary mobile guest tickets through GoAztecs.
  • Graduates do not need a ticket.
Step 6: Student Disability Services Assistance By April 15
